Following the cup victory last week our U12s fought hard to pick up three points away from home. Facing a new team in the Middlesex league we didn’t know what to expect, Muswell Hill were pressing high effectively stopping us from playing out from the back. We found ourselves a goal down but the boys showed great character and tactical awareness, moving the ball quicker into the middle third. We equalized shortly after and were unlucky not to be ahead before half time.
We went into the second half knowing that the next goal would shape the outcome of the game, thankfully it was us who took the lead. 2-1 up and in control of the game we were able to double our lead with around ten minutes left. Unfortunately we allowed Muswell Hill back into the game and the last few moments of the game were nervy and tense. With seconds to go Muswell Hill were throwing everyone forward to get the equalizer, but we were able to put the game to bed after a well worked counter attack. The boys worked incredibly hard to win 4-2 against a very organised team.
